I’m StephenWard, a Masters-qualified Nutritionist and Functional Medicine Practitioner based in Melbourne. Over the past decade, I’ve worked with individuals dealing with chronic conditions, from digestive issues and fatigue to hormonal imbalances and autoimmunity, using a root-cause, systems-based approach.
Fairfield Nutrition Shop is an extension of my clinical work. Fairfield Nutrition’s Origin Story
Fairfield Nutrition Shop emerged from our Functional Medicine clinic in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, established in 2018. Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of clients address chronic conditions and optimize their wellbeing using a root-cause approach to health—identifying and treating the underlying causes rather than just managing symptoms.
As practitioners, we saw firsthand how difficult it was for people to access clinically relevant, trustworthy supplements, especially those trying to take charge of their health outside the standard medical model. This gap inspired us to launch Fairfield Nutrition Shop in 2023: a place where clients, practitioners, and health-conscious individuals could find the tools they need, without the confusion or hype.
Meet the Founder
I’m Stephen Ward, a Masters-qualified Nutritionist (Personalised Nutrition) and Functional Medicine Practitioner based in Ivanhoe, Melbourne. I’m a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) and have spent nearly a decade working with individuals dealing with chronic conditions, from digestive issues and fatigue to hormonal imbalances and autoimmunity, using a root-cause, systems-based approach.
Root-cause medicine means looking beyond symptoms to identify the underlying factors contributing to health issues. This might involve assessing gut microbiome imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, toxic load, stress responses, or genetic variations that affect how your body processes nutrients and toxins.
