The Comprehensive Thyroid Testing Package measures a range of thyroid-related markers, including TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3, FT3 Ratio, and thyroid antibodies (TPO, ATG and TSH receptor antibodies).
Once your results are ready, you’ll receive a laboratory report showing the markers tested and your results. Fairfield Nutrition also provides additional notes to help you understand the results in context and identify when further discussion with a healthcare practitioner may be appropriate. One-on-one consultations are also available if you would like additional guidance.
Comprehensive Thyroid Testing Package
This testing package measures a range of thyroid-related markers from a blood sample. It is intended to provide additional information that can be considered alongside your health history, symptoms, other laboratory results, and clinical context.
The package includes a broader range of thyroid-related markers than a TSH-only test, with options depending on the panel selected.
Thyroid Markers Included
- TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone): A hormone involved in regulating thyroid hormone production.
- Free T4 (FT4): Measures the unbound fraction of thyroxine (T4) in the blood.
- Free T3 (FT3): Measures the unbound fraction of triiodothyronine (T3) in the blood.
- Reverse T3 (rT3): Measures reverse triiodothyronine in the blood.
- FT3 Ratio: A calculated ratio using thyroid hormone results, where included in the selected panel.
- Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies: Measures antibodies directed against thyroid peroxidase.
- Anti-Thyroglobulin (ATG) Antibodies: Measures antibodies directed against thyroglobulin.
- TSH Receptor Antibodies: Measures antibodies directed against the TSH receptor.

About Thyroid Testing
Different thyroid tests provide different pieces of information. Results are best interpreted together rather than relying on an individual marker in isolation. Laboratory results also need to be considered in the context of symptoms, medical history, medications, and other relevant health information.
Testing does not by itself provide a diagnosis or determine what treatment or nutritional intervention may be appropriate. If results are outside the laboratory reference range, or you have symptoms or concerns about your thyroid, discuss them with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Procedure and Turnaround Time
Results are usually available within 3–5 business days after the laboratory receives the sample.
- Once your order has been processed, your test kit will be sent to your home address.
- Take the test kit to a collection centre, where a blood sample will be collected according to the laboratory instructions. You can find a list of collection centres here.
- Your blood sample is returned to the laboratory for analysis.
- When we receive the results, we’ll provide them to you together with the laboratory report and any additional notes from Fairfield Nutrition.
- If you selected or would like an optional consultation, you can then book an appointment to discuss your results in more detail.
